When you think of having a clean body you automatically think personal hygiene right?? Well there is more to cleanliness then the outside of our bodies. What’s just as important if not more is what we put into our bodies. Most of us know that it is better for us to eat organic vs. conventionally grown. But unless you live on a farm with organic fruits, vegetables and grass-fed animals, availability and the price of eating organic all the time can get in the way. This is why the “dirty dozen” and “clean fifteen” lists are such great resources!!

The “dirty dozen” list identifies foods which are highest in pesticide levels, meaning the foods which are best to buy organic. These are fruits and vegetables that mainly have skin or outer covering that you eat. The “clean 15” list indicates foods that are safe to buy non-organic due to the low pesticide levels. Most of the foods on this list have an outer shell that you discard and/or pests don’t bother with these foods meaning less insecticides are required.

Dirty-Dozen

So this being said… food DOESN’T have to be organic all the time. This list is great to print off to bring to the grocery store with you to make shopping easier. There is also an app for iPhones called “dirty dozen” which is very helpful when on the go. Do your best to keep your body clean on the inside!
