photoNow that the weather has warmed up and the sun is shinning I’ve really been craving some nice cold treats. I want ice cream!! So I thought I would come up with a healthy cold treat alternative to enjoy on these gorgeous hot days.

What I did was make a fruit smoothie and freeze it in Popsicle makers. Easy right!! You can make your favourite smoothie and try all different flavours. Here is the one I made yesterday.

Recipe

    • 1 banana
    • 1 cup of mangoes
    • 1 cup of raspberries
    • ½ cup of pineapple
    • 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
    • 1 ½ cups or coconut milk

Blend the ingredients, then put mixture into Popsicle containers (which can be bought at any grocery store). I bought mine at Crate and Barrel and they worked great! Freeze over night and enjoy!!

I had to run hot water over the Popsicle containers to get them out!

These treats are so healthy you can even have them for breakfast! This is also the perfect post dinner snack as pineapple contains an enzyme called bromelain which aids in digestion as well it has anti-inflammatory properties.
