There is just something so comforting about hot chocolate, brings back so many comforting childhood memories. That being said I know that the health benefits are not as good as the taste. I have created a healthier version to cozy up with in front of the fire on those cold winter days and nights. It is very simple and still delicious.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of almond milk (find homemade recipe here)
- 2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
- A drop of stevia
- 1 tablespoon or natural maple syrup
- A few drops of vanilla extract (to taste)
- A dash of cinnamon
Directions:
- Combine all of the above ingredients in a saucepan over high heat
- Stir regularly- until hot (avoid bringing to a boil)
- Pour in your favourite mug and sip up! I like adding coconut whip cream for a treat
