As a child one of my favourite treats was a big glass of chocolate milk. I was the happiest kid around when I would find that sitting in my fridge. Buuut now that we know the truth about milk (refer to post on “The Milk Myth”) this is not the healthy treat I once thought it was. Chocolate milk has soooo many additives, sugar and much more. Yuck!! But it still taste so good! So how about a chocolate milk alternative?? This is such a simple recipe that is health friendly. When I am craving something sweet this is one of my go to recipes!

Ingredients: (1 serving)hot-chocolate-chocolate-fix-under-150-calories-pg-03-full

  • 1 cup of nut milk (I usually use almond milk) refer to my post on Homemade Almond Milk
  • Natural sweetener of choice- 1 tsp. of raw honey or stevia
  • A few drops of vanilla extract
  • 2 tbs of Raw Cacao Powder

You can drink this delicious beverage either cold or hot and is also great for children to avoid that extra sugar!
