IMG_7712There is just something so comforting about hot chocolate, brings back so many comforting childhood memories. That being said I know that the health benefits are not as good as the taste. I have created a healthier version to cozy up with in front of the fire on those cold winter days and nights. It is very simple and still delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of almond milk (find homemade recipe here)
  • 2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
  • A drop of stevia
  • 1 tablespoon or natural maple syrup
  • A few drops of vanilla extract (to taste)
  • A dash of cinnamon

Directions:

  • Combine all of the above ingredients in a saucepan over high heat
  • Stir regularly- until hot (avoid bringing to a boil)
  • Pour in your favourite mug and sip up! I like adding coconut whip cream for a treat
